
MELUXINA
In June 2021, LuxProvide launched MeluXina, the EuroHPC supercomputer hosted in Luxembourg, on the EVIDEN BullSequana XH2000 platform, with 18 PetaFlops of computing power and 20 PetaBytes of storage.
It integrates simulation, modeling, data analytics, and AI, thanks to its scalable architecture and GPU AI accelerators.
MeluXina ranked 36th globally and was the greenest in the EU in the Top500 ranking.
Named after Luxembourg’s legend of the mermaid Melusina, it underscores Luxembourg’s digital innovation, using water-cooling to reflect its namesake.


The acquisition and operation of the EuroHPC supercomputer is fundedjointly by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, through the European Union’sConnecting Europe Facility and the Horizon 2020 research andinnovation programme, as well as the Grand Duche du Luxembourg.

Privacy through anonymisation
To protect client confidentiality, LuxProvide anonymises all projects hosted on MeluXina. Identifying details such as organisation or user names are replaced with neutral identifiers, ensuring that project information remains private at all times.

USING MELUXINA
Direct use of high-performance computing
Standard access to MeluXina allows users to run workloads directly on the supercomputing platform. This is ideal for large-scale simulations, data analytics, AI model training and other intensive computational tasks.
Users can interact with the system via batch scheduling, secure command-line interfaces and dedicated computing environments tailored to their needs.
This access path is best suited for users who require full control over their computing workflows and have experience working in HPC environments.
MELUXINA, THE CLOUD-ENABLED SUPERCOMPUTER
We are engineering the MeluXina Cloud to provide gateways to our supercomputing platform, supporting your most intensive computational and data workflows.
The MeluXina Cloud hosts:
- interactive environments for building and running AI models
- container registries that deliver encapsulated, trusted applications to supercomputing container engines
- portals and APIs that will enable you to deploy applications tailored to your needs
- object-oriented interfaces to our data pools
A Kubernetes platform running on top of the MeluXina Cloud is in the works. It will link the supercomputing platform to flexible, cloud-native services, and empower scalable AI solutions.
